A compact car these days is barely one ton. He can do 10 to 40 tons in most depictions. The general stuff he does in all three films is reasonably close (train thing aside) to how strong he is.
So Spidey literally runs to danger because he knows it's dangerous. Because if he goes to the crime, the buzzing goes off, because it would be danger. Trivia: it can act as a homing beacon to crime if he's nearby, like swinging near a crime scene. He can close his eyes, zone out, and swing around safely because of it - his hand will aim true for at least a safe swing, if not a perfect one, because of it. He can be coming in for a landing on the roof of his apartment building and if someone is going to see him doing that or taking off his suit, the sense will low level warn him. Spidey-sense is most accurate in those, but it's more of a constant. No way can Spidey stop a train like he did, but the rest of the stuff in the first three films? Trivial. Tobey Maguire's toughness is pretty accurate, but his powers do not scale by emotion and stuff like in those films. In comics terms, he's even faster, but not nearly as fast as Andrew Garfield's Spidey gets a few times in the Amazing Spider-Man films.

I hope some day someone takes a stab at it, but in the meantime I'm not terribly interested in it as a concept.Īs a long-time Spidey reader, I would comfortably say that for swinging and jumping and stuff, the PS4 Spidey is closest to "real". It's a hard problem that you could realistically only get 1 good game out of, and that's it. The gameplay would have to focus pretty strongly on Superman's entire kit, and I think it would have to have a strong puzzle solving focus as a result. There are solutions to the problem, but they're not terribly satisfying, and take away from you feeling like Superman. What's the explanation for where they got all that kryptonite? I suppose they could also mix in a ton of magic users, but that won't fit into the DC universe neatly. How in the hell do you make mobs for Superman that are fun? Make a shit ton of Metallo clones? Sure, but then what about variety? They'll have the same gimmick no matter what. I can think of satisfying answers to every problem to making a Superman game, but 1. There could never be a sequel.ĭoing a superman game is just nearly impossible.
